Yes, I used that before I tried to have a notification center. I grabbed this code from a unixporn master (probably https://github.com/rxyhn/yoru), which does not use naughty config. I will tried later to have a notification center using naughty config, if that may work. Thanks!
Not sure how I can start applications in /etc/xdg/autostart/ in awesomeWM. Have this in my rc.lua (from lcpz/awesome-copycats rc.lua.template): awful.spawn.with_shell(
I'm trying to get the most out of my OS (Arch with X11 and Awesomewm), but I'm stuck with the widgets. I would like to create/use some utilities like an interactive calendar, small TODO list, dropdown menu, etc. but using the awesomewm widgets is too difficult and limiting. I found eww but it seems as difficult as the former widgets.

I don't know if https://github.com/Elv13/collision would provide certain useful features (like window moving) as I'm a little confused by its readme, maybe it only provides visual indication for those features, or maybe it does provide some of the functionality you're looking for?
