This one only applies to React-based projects, but the simplest way to cut out a sizeable chunk from your bundle is to swap React for Preact. There are guides for doing this process in a few steps, and with the preact-compat compatibility layer chances are you won't notice a difference (except for the significantly smaller bundle size!)

Some might argue that React’s relatively poor performance (it’s still plenty-fast for many apps) is due to Virtual DOM and prioritization of development experience, i.e., clarity over complexity. To counter the first argument - there’s React-like Inferno. For the second one - there’s Solid.

Let’s get this out of the way first — I understand the fatigue that comes with hearing about the newest framework of the week, but Marko isn’t a new framework. Rather it’s an older, and somewhat lesser known library originally created at eBay that focused on the whole server rendering concept probably long before that was a twinkle in the eyes of some of your current faves. (As a JS dev I'm obligated to say that it's "Blazingly Fast" as well, sorry).
