    In JavaScript, there are several options. The whole ecosystem moves so fast that I have no idea what is the most popular these days. There's uglify-js, which is both a minifier and beautifier. There's also standard and, as you already have, there's prettier.

    You cannot use modules if you're just opening your HTML page off the file system; you need to run a local HTTP server to serve your files. I'd suggest using VSCode's Live Server extension or http-server.

    In that spirit: I just found Slap (https://github.com/slap-editor/slap). Looks cool, but haven't installed it yet. Clearly best editor ever!!! Obviously better than vim.

    Surprised nobody's mentioned vtop. Especially nice because if you already have npm, you can just do npx vtop without needing to install it first. (I'm sure it's not the only JS tool in this thread, though)
