from what I can make out, it's using a python api behind the scenes but it's hard-coded to use english. The site you linked seems to be using the Youtube api, so maybe this is something you can do with your own youtube API key?

Extracted CC to SRT, need to remove formatting
Save yourself the trouble - use ccextractor, which gives you control over whether the markup is included in the SRT. The alternative is to post-process the srt with Chris Down's SRT library https://github.com/cdown/srt to strip out the markup, but you are far better using ccextractor.
