youtube-music VS invidious-updater

Install Firefox, ublock origin for desktop YouTube, install https://github.com/th-ch/youtube-music for YTM outside of your browser, use revanced manager for the Android YTM app, stop paying a suckers tax lol

I solved both of these by using a third party app that also allows you to download any song/album and has a bunch of cool plugins.

Hi all, Iii tried to install https://github.com/th-ch/youtube-music on Steam Deck by pacman command and makepkg, but dosnt work ;/ I installed systemd touse PKGBUILD but still without luck. I started learning linux, but looks like I can't understand why steamdeck wont install that AUR package.

I just came across last.fm today, and it's easily working on my phone. However, on my computer I use an unofficial YouTube Music app. https://github.com/th-ch/youtube-music The app says it has a last.fm plugin so I enabled it. I still see nothing scrobbled from this app though. Any help would be appreciated

Man, is there any chance of you working with https://github.com/th-ch/youtube-music to get this extension to their version of YTM app? This is going to be a game changer.

It's an alternate front end to YT content without YT tracking or advertising. Works for some depending on reason.

There's MeTube for downloading, but if you're seeking to watch videos and playlists then maybe Invidious is what you want.

You could also selfhost an ad-free YouTube frontend like Invidious.

That's a nice one. Also, there is Piped / Invidious which you can self-host and run or use a public instance like - https://pipedd official instance of Piped). It has no ads and tracking by default, supports 4K playback, integrated SponsorBlock (block in-video sponsor ads by content producers) and many other features.

you can use frontends for reddit and youtube if you just want to browse. for reddit, you can use libreddit. for YouTube, you can use invidious. this will make it so that your machine never sends requests directly to reddit or youtube. if you want apps, then there's newpipe, vuetube, libretube(all for android).
