Xbox Series S | X controllers aren't being detected on Fedora 38
In the other distros I've tried (ubuntu / pop os) I usually solve the problem by installing xpadneo using the official method that can be found here. But this doesn't seem to be working in this case. I've already tried using gnome bluetooth settings, blueman and bluetoothctl.

XBox controller via bluetooth
That was more than a year ago though and it seems some people are working on linux drivers. xpadneo is probably a good starting point: https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo

The 1622nd questions about connecting xbox controller to Linux. Updated firmware, using sysfsutils & xpadneo still failed.
If that doesn't work either, I would try making an issue on their github and asking there: https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo/issues

Xbox Controller on EndevourOS.
This very same controller has worked on this very same physical computer in the past, but under Ubuntu using the xpadneo driver (https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo/). One day, for no reason as near as I can tell, it simply stopped working and showed the exact same symptoms as above (controller works for phone, not for PC, doesn't show up in bluetooth list. Other bluetooth devices work fine with the PC). This triggered my distro-hop to Endeavour just to discover the exact same issue.

Xbox one dongle work around?
Use Linux there you can install this: https://github.com/paroj/xpad works great, except that videos that you want to use as background have to be in webm or ogv and NOT mp4

Do 8bitDo ultimate controllers work both on BT n 2,4Ghz on linux out of the box? No tinkering required
I had to compile and install the latest xpad for 2.4 mode to work. https://github.com/paroj/xpad

Now we're going to acquire the xpad files, and dkms to set it up. sudo pacman -S dkms && sudo git clone https://github.com/paroj/xpad.git /usr/src/xpad-0.4 && sudo dkms install -m xpad -v 0.4

Issue setting up controller
That particular controller doesn't seem to be compatible with Linux, I found a note about it on the XPad driver (https://github.com/paroj/xpad/issues/232) showing that it doesn't work with XPad. Which means it likely also doesn't work with XPadNeo, which Batocera uses.

Controller Not Working
I installed AntiMicroX and there all my buttons work. I also use this for driver - https://github.com/paroj/xpad

Help setting up 8BitDo Ultimate Controller
Googling I found a solution where you install an updated xpad , that has the ID for this 8bitdo controller added for it to recognize correctly. I tried installing it but fails stating that this kernel module is already installed, my only option is force install over it, but I got scared of effing up the xone/xpadneo that's working fine with the normal xbox bluetooth controller.

Help with Xbox Elite 2 back paddles wireless
I'm pretty good with tech but I'm still relatively new to Linux, I was unable to find out what kernel SteamOS is built on or where to go from here. On a side note I know (https://github.com/paroj/xpad) exist and has support for the back paddles but it only works wired. Using a 10ft wire to play games on my couch completely defeats the point, I'd rather just play my deck on the couch at that point. If someone can point me in the right direction or help me get this working it'd be greatly appreciated.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing xpadneo and xpad you can also consider the following projects:
xone - Linux kernel driver for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S accessories
xow - Linux driver for the Xbox One wireless dongle
XB1ControllerBatteryIndicator - A tray application that shows a battery indicator for an Xbox-ish controller and gives a notification when the battery level drops to (almost) empty.
er-patcher - Elden Ring enhancement patches (ultrawide support, custom frame rate limits and more) seamlessly integrated with steam.
