a short guide on the GH Live / 6-fret guitar's Xbox One dongle on a Steam Deck
Now we're going to acquire the xpad files, and dkms to set it up. sudo pacman -S dkms && sudo git clone https://github.com/paroj/xpad.git /usr/src/xpad-0.4 && sudo dkms install -m xpad -v 0.4

Issue setting up controller
That particular controller doesn't seem to be compatible with Linux, I found a note about it on the XPad driver (https://github.com/paroj/xpad/issues/232) showing that it doesn't work with XPad. Which means it likely also doesn't work with XPadNeo, which Batocera uses.

Controller Not Working
I installed AntiMicroX and there all my buttons work. I also use this for driver - https://github.com/paroj/xpad

Help setting up 8BitDo Ultimate Controller
Googling I found a solution where you install an updated xpad , that has the ID for this 8bitdo controller added for it to recognize correctly. I tried installing it but fails stating that this kernel module is already installed, my only option is force install over it, but I got scared of effing up the xone/xpadneo that's working fine with the normal xbox bluetooth controller.

Help with Xbox Elite 2 back paddles wireless
I'm pretty good with tech but I'm still relatively new to Linux, I was unable to find out what kernel SteamOS is built on or where to go from here. On a side note I know (https://github.com/paroj/xpad) exist and has support for the back paddles but it only works wired. Using a 10ft wire to play games on my couch completely defeats the point, I'd rather just play my deck on the couch at that point. If someone can point me in the right direction or help me get this working it'd be greatly appreciated.

The Linux Scheduler: A Decade of Wasted Cores (2016) [pdf]
Interesting! I've used Linux Mint for the last 5+ years (and am using the Xanmod kernel, which is on 6.6), but have always been Pop OS curious. This increases my curiosity, I may have to give it a go on my laptop.

Been thinking of switching to linux but I am a noob
Generally, Arch is the better platform for getting various kernel versions, but there's always stuff like Xanmod which is easy to do in any distro. Worst case, could always use linux-tkg script to build your own kernel - with that kind of hardware it shouldn't take long for the kernel to be built.

Have any Linux users trialed other distros or do you only stick to Fedora/Arch?
Still a bit of a noob. I haven't heard of that one. Do you mean this: https://xanmod.org/? Is there any stability or compatibility issues that come with it?

Bottles – Easily run Windows software on Linux
The ArchWiki has some tips that can help tuning your system to squeeze more performance: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/gaming
This launcher does help too: https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode
On top of that, you can use a patched kernel like: https://xanmod.org/
You can check support status for games here: https://www.protondb.com/
If you run games via Proton with DXVK, you can use the environment variable DXVK_HUD=1 to show a HUD with an FPS meter. Some others prefer mangohud.
Setting your CPU frequency scaling governor and GPU to performance mode also helps.

Help installing driver of RTL8188GU USB wifi adapter
There are different drivers available but the best way is to install linux kernel 6.3 which has built in support for rtl wifi. I also have similar adapter and had the problem. I recommend xanmod kernel because it is newer and has the needed driver and it is focussed on desktop performance.
