xNetHack Version 7.0 Released!
These announcements always seem to happen in the late winter for some unknowable reason. Anyway, xNetHack version 7.0 is officially released! You can play it directly on hardfought.org, via an SSH client of your choice or in your browser with tiles. Windows binaries are available at the GitHub release page - follow the devteam's instructions for running on Windows. Or you can get the source from GitHub and compile it yourself.

Did the numpad support go away in xNethack ?!
Taking a look on GithHub I suspect that 2 days ago something has changed...

I'm pleased to announce the release of xNetHack version 6.0. As always, you can play it directly on hardfought.org, via an SSH client or in your browser, with tiles or without. If you want to compile it yourself, get the source on GitHub.

Just bought a new Android tablet and want to try a roguelike, but I haven't played video games in years and am terrible at them. Any suggestions for a good introduction to the genre for a very casual gamer who dies all the time in video games?
Brogue is very simple. You can get the android port here

My third roguelike is Brogue! I'm in love with this aesthetic.

Is there a port for Nintendo 3DS?
I don't think so, but there does seem to be a switch port. There's also an android port that is pretty solid but even with a 6.1 inch screen on my phone it's not ideal for me. I imagine the 3DS screen size (3.53 regular/4.88 XL) and low resolution would be a bit annoying to play regularly.

I need help getting into roguelikes.
There's a pretty solid Brogue port for Android on github here, if it's any good to you.
