Do Not Update XLights
The latest update 2023_4 changes something about the .fseq files. They won't validate and don't play on the car. You can download older versions here (I'm on 2023.1)

Twinkly and XLights Set Up
So I *think* I have Twinkly and XLights set up correctly but as I am having some issues (https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/issues/3458) I want to sanity check my set up. I found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNRMY2xzfrk) but my version of XLights is different and the process flow and options etc also. I'm on a Mac running v2022.23.

I don't think you need that much for it to work. I've seen so many cool light shows synchronized with music. You can use a Raspberry Pi and install on it Falcon Player ( FFP ) and connect everything through a network and maybe try on your laptop / pc a program called xLights to make some interesting stuff.

There are over 1000 individually addressable LEDs in this room!
On my PC, I use XLights to wirelessly connect to the controller, map my room and program the LEDs.

Custom made light shows?
The car’s manual provides a link to the Tesla LightShow GitHub where it tells you how to make your own (I’ve been developing a light show for MarioKart Double Dash Rainbow Road). The GitHub also provides a link to TeslaLightShare.io which is one of a handful of Lightshow repositories.

You could try downloading the official light show and play it as a custom show.

My validator update has been merged, make sure to update it: https://github.com/teslamotors/light-show You only need the new validator.py, the rest remains unchanged.

Oh shoot I just realized you were also investigating this bug too. I posted my investigation findings as a comment in the post people were talking about this on and raised a bug report issue with Tesla about my findings here.

Light shows
If you go to set up a lightshow there’s a button right below the selection. Click it to open the GitHub link where it will provide instructions for setting up a custom lightshow, and a link to a repository.

Full Functionality
For windows, use the keyboard shortcuts Q for open, A for dance, Z for close. You need the updated XLights configuration for this: https://github.com/teslamotors/light-show
