Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Update: I improved visual quality even further. Code is now fully die hard 32 bit only. It opens the door to ridiculous creative coding - now we can do basically anything to the values without concern to cause flicker. Faulty results get filtered out while all valid results maintain 32 bit accuracy.
Here, take whatever you want from my repo. Twist it around however you want and make it yours. The majority of animations have videos. https://github.com/doctorpartlow/workingfastledanimations

Inquiring about led animations
Here's a git repo with some single file animations that are ready to dump in your ide and upload to your board. Theres videos of what they look like. I find the best way to learn for me is to mess around and change things to see what they are doing https://github.com/doctorpartlow/workingfastledanimations

Here's a few animations on a 24x24 matrix with an accompanying github repo in description

I created a beginner-friendly library for the ESP8266 that allows you to control multiple FastLED animations using custom sliders and color pickers.
It is available via the Arduino library manager. The documentation can be found on the project's GitHub page!
What are some alternatives?
audiobox - A music-reactive LED box with Spotify integration
quickPatterns - FastLED based pattern engine for addressable LEDs (NeoPixels, WS2811, WS2812) for layering animations on the same strand of lights.
HyperCube
Wordclock - Diy Wordclock with an esp32 and ws2812b Leds
Audio-Spectrum-Display - Version 1.0 of ESP32 powered Audio Spectrum Display
FastLED_NeoPixel - An Arduino library for using Adafruit NeoPixel library animations with FastLED
hexagon-desk - Epoxy coffe table with 3d printed hexagon inserts and led pcbs with touch sensor
syncBlink - A WiFi connected, programmable and music reactive light system
Adalight-FastLED - Adalight with FastLED support
Pixie_Chroma - Arduino library and documentation for Pixie Chroma displays!
NeoPixelBus - An Arduino NeoPixel support library supporting a large variety of individually addressable LEDs. Please refer to the Wiki for more details. Please use the GitHub Discussions to ask questions as the GitHub Issues feature is used for bug tracking.
