VPN Split + DNS Split using systemd-resolved on Ubuntu 20.04
I use vpn-slice to only route through the VPN requests to client's IPs and domains, which are many, like mail.myclient.net, test.myclient.net, jira.myclient.net, etc. I use nslookup to get the IP address of each domain.

I dockerized the AnyConnect VPN client
Docker seems like overkill. Have you seen this? https://github.com/dlenski/VPN-slice. For DNS, I use dnsmasq, that way I can still use DNS for corporate hosts, and 8.8.8.8 for everything else.

How I Made a Heap Overflow in Curl
I wrote a series of shell scripts called docker-proxy that creates SOCKS5 tunnels to Docker containers running openconnect VPNs, useful when you're working with multiple customers who have different VPNs that want all traffic on your machine forwarded through. https://github.com/carlosonunez/docker-proxy
Since DNS resolution is meant to occur remotely, this CVE would be directly applicable here.

I dockerized the AnyConnect VPN client
I've done something similar a while back, for the same reason. It's called docker-proxy and you can find it here. It makes setting up Dockerized OpenConnect VPN containers easy. They also include HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 reverse proxies so that you can create your own hacked split traffic tunnels through the Docker containers.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing vpn-slice and docker-proxy you can also consider the following projects:
openconnect - OpenConnect VPN running in Docker.
openconnect-sso - Wrapper script for OpenConnect supporting Azure AD (SAMLv2) authentication to Cisco SSL-VPNs
ocproxy - OpenConnect proxy
algo - Set up a personal VPN in the cloud
OpenConnect-Linux-GUI - Simple GUI Front-End For The OpenConnect VPN On Linux
