neotest: A modern, powerful testing plugin
How about https://github.com/rcarriga/vim-ultest ?

Your lualine custom features
I have one that's half working for ultest. I haven't bothered to get the colors right.

debugpy.nvim: Command and API frontend to nvim-dap and Debugpy (debugging Python)
But I haven't yet set up anything properly other than Debugpy. nvim-dap is very barebones, so I feel that the best way is to have an extra configuration plugin on top. Debugpy.nvim is a very specific frontend plugin, but there are also more general plugins like nvim-metals and vim-ultest which also offer integration with nvim-dap.

What's the best tool for testing?
Love seeing my plugins in the wild! Just FYI for anyone reading vim-ultest has an integration with nvim-dap which allows you to write debugging configs for any language and debug tests. There are currently recipes for python and go but I'd love to see more added! https://github.com/rcarriga/vim-ultest/wiki/Debugging-Recipes

Populate quickfix from a tmux pane
Another thing I use for tests is https://github.com/rcarriga/vim-ultest which allows running the test and seeing the output inside vim, which works quite nice once I have narrowed down the test file that has the failing test.
- Java/Kotlin developers that use NeoVim as their main IDE, recommendations to someone that uses Intellij IDEA for java-dev but nvim for the rest?

I use the default file browser in vim (netrw). I know there are plugins that a lot of people like. Should I switch?
I personally use nerdtree. Add nerdtree-git-plugin too, that's nice when looking at your project (for files, use vim-gitgutter).

Margin indicator for Neovim
That said, Neovim can still run most Vimscript plugins just fine, so you can still use https://github.com/chrisbra/changesPlugin (and https://github.com/airblade/vim-gitgutter and https://github.com/mhinz/vim-signify/, which are mentioned in the README) if you want.
-
:DiffOrig changes reflected in sign column
vim-signify or git gutter can do this for files managed by git.
- Is there a simple way to see if a certain line has unsaved changes?

What "new-to-you" tool did you recently start using that just changed your workflow for the better?
https://github.com/tpope/vim-fugitive https://github.com/airblade/vim-gitgutter Since your already on neovim these plugins are excellent for git integration within vim! You may just prefer lazygit but having a tight integration in editor is definitely really nice for my personal workflow. Your approach is more unix-y where you have a tool for each job though!

Are there plugins for Neovim that don't exist, that should exist, in your opinion?
vim-gitgutter supports staging/undoing hunks and a hunk text object. I find it convenient for this exact workflow.
What are some alternatives?
