Ledger nano s plus in ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, working ok with ledger live app but not with metamask neither chromium nor firefox
I did not comment that https://github.com/LedgerHQ/udev-rules/blob/master/add_udev_rules.sh has been applied. Before applying the previous script Ledger Live was unable to detect the ledger nano s plus.
- Ledger X not being recognized by raspberry pi

Monero GUI - Ledger Nano S No Device found
For Ubuntu, try adding udev rules for the ledger: https://github.com/LedgerHQ/udev-rules

Ledger help - Nano X
Can you run git clone https://github.com/LedgerHQ/udev-rules.git again in the terminal and thereafter run ls -al? A list should appear and the Ledger folder should be present. Please check.

As of today, Monero GUI is available as a flatpak
But yes, no one has confirmed yet... if it is an issue, perhaps specific permissions can be granted using these udev rules. I just dont know anything about the powers of the .yaml file / flatpak (first time user)

Setting up my own node?
running seth's docker image https://github.com/sethforprivacy/simple-monerod-docker under docker desktop would be a much better solution. you really don't want to run a full desktop environment just for monerod

Monero A self-sovereign, private-by-default, digital cash This service runs a pruned Monero node, allowing you to connect your own Monero wallet(s) directly to your own node
