If you just want to play campaign/single player skirmish; get TS-DDRAW or CnC-DDRAW, plop the .dll into your RA2 folder and it should take care of the rest

Just came in the mail! Sadly Red Alert 2 and Generals doesn’t work, but Zero hour does after patches. How come Generals was never rereleased?
For RA2/YR: You'll need TS-DDRAW if you're not going the CnCNet route.

How do I fix this? EA told me to go pound sand.
If that is too much of a hassle for you, for your specific problem; get TS-DDRAW and plop the .dll into your RA2/YR folder and it should take care of the rest. It even works for Tiberian Sun!

How is Generals Zero Hot compatibility on Windows 10?
TS-DDRAW might help. Just plop in the .dll on your TS folder and it should take care of the rest.

I have a problem with Yuri's revenge and TFD and I've not encountered it before, please help.
Not sure which one you've used, but did you try TS-DDRAW? Download the .dll and plop it to your RA2 folder. It should take care of the rest and hopefully it solves your issue.

So didn't know this but kinda funny.
If you want widescreen support on vanilla RA2/YR, use TS-DDRAW or CnC-DDRAW.

No Main Menu overlay in Red Allert 2
I'm not sure if CnCNet can be run on Linux (via Wine) or not, but you can try TS-DDRAW as it does mention it works via Wine.

Get CnC-DDRAW, extract the .dll, paste it on your SUN folder and it should take care of the rest.

Command & Conquer - The First Decade
And now the tricky part... and the reason why I was not able to run both RA2 and TS... You need a library called cnc-ddraw ( Releases · FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw (github.com) ) which fixes a lot of things for old games. When using windows you need to copy the ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini files from the zip and you are done but when using wine/proton you need a simple launch option to load the custom dll file instead of the protons builtin ddraw. Thanks to u/RoweenX4 and some google-fu.

Any up to date guides to get Icewind Dale 2 running on modern PCs (W10) in Widescreen mode?
Regardless if you had to do the above, install https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases to your IWD2 folder and run the game thenafter.
