Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

how does this compare to all the other publishing tools? quartz: https://quartz.jzhao.xyz/, and https://github.com/devidw/obsidian-to-hugo/ are of particular interest for me.

Is there a Static Site Generator that works with Obsidian for local network use only?
I don't know if there's an out-of-the-box solution, but I would look into Hugo as your SSG. A quick search led to this: https://github.com/devidw/obsidian-to-hugo
