What are your top self hosted services that you are very satisfied with ?
You might want to look into Mylar3 and/or threetwo. I've only tried Mylar3 myself, and I believe it did download a comic or two, but based on some other comments in this thread, it sounds like it's hit or miss for reliability.

Comic server than can read embedded ComicRack series + volume + title info?
Hello, please also take a look at ThreeTwo If integrates with AirDC++ for downloading. It also supports parsing of comicinfo.xml so in that sense, you could still continue using ComicRack for curation or use ThreeTwo for that purpose too.

Looking at the future (of comicinfo scrapping)
I am the developer of ThreeTwo , which I encourage you guys to check out. It is a comic book curation app, in the vein of Ubooquity, and also integrates with DC++ for downloads.

What self hosted application are you using to fetch and download Manga and comics?
Hello, I am the dev of ThreeTwo https://github.com/rishighan/threetwo and while it only supports comics, not manga, I would ask you to give it a shot. I’ve been working on it for over a year and it’s come a long way (https://discord.gg/4bBbZkzZD2 )

Calibre Replacement Considerations
Hey, Kavita creator here and noticed you don't have any mentions of Kavita for epub readers. Kavita is not a Calibre replacement, but has a built-in epub/pdf reader along with some series-based organization.
