Book streaming app that is open source, not Ubooquity or Calibre (or based on/requires it) AND can read books with text (and not pages of images)?
Have you looked into https://github.com/inorichi/tachiyomi? It integrates with Komga.

[Serious Question] Where do you guys read all the parts of JoJo?
Hi there, I just checked our links on the "Read Manga!" page, and besides MangaDex, they all are working. As far as what I personally use, I use the Tachiyomi app on my phone. They automatically put in a good selection of manga libraries that you can download and read manga from. There are no ads and it's super easy to read on.

It shouldn't. You're not using Tachiyomi then. Only download Tachiyomi from official sources (or trusted unofficial ones), like https://github.com/inorichi/tachiyomi/releases

Where do I start?
Q: Where to read the manga online? A: You can read on Guya.moe in high quality, on Android, IOS or PC. If you want to read on an app on Android then you can install Tachiyomi by downloading the apk file from here. Then follow these instructions.. There is no IOS app for now.
