threeSD VS godmode9-layeredfs-usage

Recommend using threeSD. Not only will it get the AES key, but also has the option for dumping installed titles, DLC, save data, etc. Obviously, if the only thing you want is the AES keys then you can deselect everything except that and there will be no problems.

You have to hack your 3DS to dump data from it. This is very safe as long as you are careful. You can use threeSD to dump data (recommended by Citra developers).

This is a helpful guide for doing it manually but you can also use threeSD to do it automatically

First off dump your system files using ThreeSD and make sure that you already have the update installed for Mii Plaza on your 3DS so that ThreeSD dumps it. Also make sure you have ticked System Settings and Config Savegame when dumping with ThreeSD. If you don’t know how to dump your system files from your 3DS use this guide.

If you want, you can run Godmode9 via ntrboot on your non-CFW 3DS without having to install CFW – though this is a somewhat atypical process. You might even be able to use threeSD, but it may require some modification as Godmode9 via ntrboot cannot dump boot9.bin. Or you might be able to use ninfs on your PC.

I'm not sure but you can try to use threeSD to extract the save from you SD card

No worries. Alright. So if you have luma 3ds, there is an easy way to install the cartridge to make it digital. https://3ds.eiphax.tech/tips.html is a list of things you can do with cfw. Youll notice one of the options is CartInstall. See https://github.com/knight-ryu12/godmode9-layeredfs-usage/wiki/CartInstall-guide for the guide. You can install as many cartridges as you want during this process then it will reboot. If you want to learn how to mod your 3ds, check out this guy called "Sthetix" On youtube who makes many mod tutorials for both old and new 3ds's alike (I have an old 3ds, worked like a charm!) Or, if you're more of a reader, I've heard that https://3ds.hacks.guide/ works. You will need lumacfw. Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm not an expert by any means; modded my 3ds a couple weeks ago and formatted a 128gb microsdxc card, so I know a bit.

You already have a copy that you can use godmode9 to dump / rip it straight from your 3ds. Look at the Dumping An Installed SD Title Or Update/DLC As A CIA section. It might take a bit, but you'll have a ready to use cia as soon as it's done dumping.
