[Help needed] TWiN’s future
Moving to the actual action points: I think as a starter we could go with a couple of people requesting write access to phaazon/this-week-in-neovim-contents. The way I’ve been working is pretty simple:
-
wpm.nvim - words per minute tracker
Don't forget to add it to "This Week in Neovim". How to contribute -> https://github.com/phaazon/this-week-in-neovim-contents/blob/master/README.md

Make a PR to "This Week In Neovim". Although it will probably be added anyways, this certainly helps maintaining newsletter.

I read the nvim 0.8 release note so you do not have to.
Next time, feel free to open a PR to https://github.com/phaazon/this-week-in-neovim-contents/ so that it gets deployed to https://this-week-in-neovim.org. That would have had its place 100%.

I've crated my own zen mode plugin, but how and why?
I use https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim or https://github.com/rcarriga/nvim-dap-ui

Why isn't using sidebars to display information more popular?
Great point, it’s exactly why I added a scratchpad feature to https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim to leverage the empty side buffers as scratch pads (https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim/wiki/Showcase#side-buffer-as-scratch-pad)

Using Neovim to take notes
If I may join the discussion on this topic, I've recently added a scratchpad feature to my plugin, which in your case, would allow you to take notes while taking notes

UPDATE: no-neck-pain.nvim - Dead simple plugin to center the currently focused buffer to the middle of the screen.
Thanks for the request! Would you mind submitting it to GitHub so we can further discuss it and what you’d expect? Thanks! https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim
Thanks a lot! please let me know if you need help. Feel free to open an issue to continue the discussion: https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim/issues
Speaking of your empty left terminal, [I just added this earlier today](https://github.com/shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim/pull/69) which only adds the side buffers when there's enough space, so if you have the plugin enabled, you don't have to worry about opening an empty window, the plugin thinks about it for you :)
