Is there a way to have a full TUI desktop environment?
For telegram, you could try something like tdlib-purple along with finch. It's basically the console version of pidgin if you've used that before, and it was really quite nice when I last used it a decade ago. :)

Telegram desktop from debian stable repo is too old to use, literally, it won't let you log in. Is there any plan to update it before the next stable release?
There is also a pidgin plugin tdlib. Works for me.

Why Telegram had to follow Apple and Google when they suspended a voting app
Yep. And not only bots - 3rd-party clients are much better tolerated compared to wa/signal.
Telegram has a clean, compact 3rd-party client that just works: https://github.com/ars3niy/tdlib-purple/
Signal has arcane, bloated (multiple dependencies, requires Java), and brittle client library https://github.com/hoehermann/purple-signal (there are other semi-abandoned projects)
WA 3rd-party clients are flat-out dead: https://github.com/davidgfnet/whatsapp-purple (and bunch more, all dead, or half-dead) Plus, WA would ban people they suspect to use 3rd-party clients.

[Q] Telegram Desktop: can't use system title bar on Linux?
Anyone else noticed that with Telegram Desktop 4.1.1 it's not possible to configure the app to use system title bar anymore? I'm using the flatpak version, so not sure if it's a packaging bug or what.
- So who actually packages and maintains flatpaks?

App shows up in GUI but is not actually installed

[Q] The Debian 10 version of Telegram (telegram-desktop) is asking to update to the latest version, but there's no new verson for Debian 10 (current is 1.5.11-1). Is there a solution for this?
If you don't feel like using the web version, you can also use Flatpak version, which you should be using on desktop anyway.
