TCPING version 1.19.0 is out!
I suggest you to take a look at dpinger that used in many monitoring multi-wan gateways/routers to be able to make decision to failover between interfaces. If tcping might be compatible with flags/options it might be a good alternative then, especially if it might do TCP in addition to ICMP

Periodic Packet Loss on 1Gb Connection
The graph is created using Grafana and InfluxDB. InfluxDB is the DB and Grafana creates the graphs. The ping times and packet loss data are measured by dpinger and pushed into InfluxDB by Telegraf. I have Grafana and InfluxDB running in a Debian VM and dpinger runs as a service on another VM that also acts as my DNS server.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing tcping and dpinger you can also consider the following projects:
go-netstat - A netstat implementation written in Go
smokeping_prober - Prometheus style smokeping
plugins - OPNsense plugin collection
lssh - List selection type ssh/scp/sftp client command. Supports single connection and parallel connection. Local bashrc can also be used without placing it on a remote machine. Written in Golang.
owncast - Take control over your live stream video by running it yourself. Streaming + chat out of the box.
g - powerful and cross-platform ls 🌈 built for modern terminal
trippy - A network diagnostic tool
