Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

TCPING version 1.19.0 is out!
I suggest you to take a look at dpinger that used in many monitoring multi-wan gateways/routers to be able to make decision to failover between interfaces. If tcping might be compatible with flags/options it might be a good alternative then, especially if it might do TCP in addition to ICMP

Periodic Packet Loss on 1Gb Connection
The graph is created using Grafana and InfluxDB. InfluxDB is the DB and Grafana creates the graphs. The ping times and packet loss data are measured by dpinger and pushed into InfluxDB by Telegraf. I have Grafana and InfluxDB running in a Debian VM and dpinger runs as a service on another VM that also acts as my DNS server.

Tools to compare ping times between ISPs to common services
Check out the smokeping_prober. It generates high resolution histogram data that you can use to compare different paths.
-
How to track that my ISP is up?
I wrote this smokeping tool to monitor. I also use unpoller
-
External monitoring service for UDM
I wrote this tool to monitor my ISP connectivity.
- TCPING version 1.19.0 is out!

How many time series or DPM to ICMP ping monitor a device?
I am thinking this might be the exporter to use: https://github.com/SuperQ/smokeping_prober At the bottom of that page it says

"Modern" alternatives to SmokePing
I wrote a smokeping_prober for Prometheus.
-
How do YOU measure network failure recovery times?
For some stuff, I do end-to-end probin with a tool I wrote.
-
Is there a simple console (ncurses?) application to show a simple green-light/red-light availability (ping?) of a user-defined list of nodes in a single-screen map/list/columns format?

Real-Time Performance Monitoring Software
I wrote a "better smokeping" tool that produces much more detailed data than IP SLA.
-
How do you monitor your networks latency, jitter, and packet loss?
I wrote my own variation of smokeping. It currently only does ICMP and UDP probing, but I've thought about adding things like TCP, HTTP, DNS, etc.
What are some alternatives?
tcping - Ping TCP ports using tcping. Inspired by Linux's ping utility. Written in Go
internet-monitoring - Monitor your network and internet speed with Docker & Prometheus
plugins - OPNsense plugin collection
vaping - vaping is a healthy alternative to SmokePing!
blackbox_exporter - Blackbox prober exporter
yet-another-cloudwatch-exporter - Prometheus exporter for AWS CloudWatch - Discovers services through AWS tags, gets CloudWatch metrics data and provides them as Prometheus metrics with AWS tags as labels
net-test - Monitors network connectivity for downtime.
Speedtest-Tracker - Continuously track your internet speed
checkmk - Checkmk - Best-in-class infrastructure & application monitoring
minitor-go - A minimal monitoring tool (Mirror)
unifi-poller - Application: Collect ALL UniFi Controller, Site, Device & Client Data - Export to InfluxDB or Prometheus
smokeping-mtr-alert - Run MTR automatically when SmokePing triggers an alert
