Geddit: Open-source, Reddit client for Android without using API
You may be thinking of tafkars: https://github.com/derivator/tafkars
Activity seems to have died down now that some larger Reddit apps have announced they're building dedicated Lemmy clients. Connect for Lemmy is pretty good already, Sync is coming out with an app in a few weeks, and there are other apps out there as well.

Whats your favourite alternative to slide?
You can also change the base URL in the app to a Reddit-To-Lemmy proxy like https://github.com/derivator/tafkars

Code modifications to use tafkars?
I'm trying to use https://github.com/derivator/tafkars in order to access lemmy through the infinity interface, but it seems changing only the api url in APIUtils doesn't work. Is there anything else that needs to be changed?
- Tafkars is a Reddit API proxy in the early stages of development. It will enable Reddit apps to be used on servers and networks running other protocols. A Lemmy translation layer will be developed first.

Boost can partner with reddit alternatives instead of shutting down
By the way, someone else posted the link, there is already someone working on such an API conversion. Here's the link https://github.com/derivator/tafkars
- I'm super happy to pay again, but I'd also love to see an as smooth as possible transition!

Reddit Fulfilled My Data Copy Request - What's the best script to use this to nuke?
Some scripts like https://github.com/x89/Shreddit look promising, and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on it just once I make sure my whitelist IDs are good. However, it's probably not thorough enough to hit all my content. My reddit data has over 68,000 comments.

UPDATE: /r/PICS is being forced to break the site-wide rules.
this may no longer work do to the recent API changes, but you can do this easily with shreddit

UPDATE: I made a script that can help you mass delete your Reddit comment/post history
Just for the sake of general interest, scripts like this already exist (and that one has an option to edit posts to add lorem ipsum nonsense).

Today is Apollo for Reddit's last day, and I just released its last update. š„¹ I just wanted to say a big thank you to the folks who have used and supported Apollo over the years, it's been the dream of a lifetime to build this app over the last 9 years. ā¤ļø Read the eulogy inside! ā¤ļø

Today we bid farewell to Apollo. Goodbye, old friend.
Ah, itās not so bad. I recommend x89/Shreddit on GitHub to remove your comments, as it edits them first, and then deletes.

The end of Reddit? Why the blackout is still going ā and what happens next
If any subreddit mods read this, thank you for doing this. I understand that taking down something that you poured so much energy and effort into is a tough decision. But it's for the best.
I used shreddit[1] to remove my account's posts/comments. It's infuriating to read this line:
> Back in April, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman told The New York Times that the site wanted to start getting paid for helping to train some of the big AI chatbots.
I hope this protest shows the leadership that users have the power.
