I also appreciate that DLC & update availability is on the roadmap. That would make it replace Switch Library Manager for my purposes.

switch-library-manager will optionally do this if you run it with prod.keys present. The default behavior does not rename or organize but works great once enabled.

Best way to install backup from NAS ?
Have you looked into Ownfoil? It’s a local Tinfoil server that you host via docker container. You set it up and point tinfoil to it. It can host your backups and you even auto back up your saves.
