swaylock-effects VS betterlockscreen

With Swaylock-effects you can use --grace and --fade-in to set some time to react. Hope it helps!

I am using the Fedora 38 Sway Spin and I want to change the swayidle behaviour, because I want to use swaylock-effects instead of swaylock.

I use swaylock-effects (github) instead of plain swaylock because I think it looks nicer, worth looking into for eye candy.

I know this is gonna be downvoted, but if you decide to move to sway in the future, you have swaylock-effects to do exactly that.

Might be possible to make it a custom effect for swaylock-effects

swaylock-effects on the other hand is designed for fancier stuff, has some built in, and has some hooks for custom effects which you could probably use.

Based on this issue, you're only going to get this from writing a script or something to do it, or try a fork like swaylock-effects or something.

The betterlockscreen package (https://github.com/pavanjadhaw/betterlockscreen) has stopped working for me all of a sudden.. I'm not sure why. I've switched to slock following the instructions on the arch wiki but I've noticed if i suspend my computer with music or audio playing, when i wake it the music restarts even before I've unlocked it. Does anyone know how to fix that?

FIXED by following this https://github.com/pavanjadhaw/betterlockscreen/pull/187 Turns out betterlockscreen is literally just a bash script, and easy to make changes to. Just needed to change the call to i3lock. Thanks anyway!
