Awesome MacOS Commandline: A curated list of awesome command-line software for macOS. [Github repo collection]
I was hoping for a macos specific list of command line tools, but this is "just" a list of universal (mac/linux/bsds) command line tools mostly, with a few specific to macos in them. Great resource nevertheless, just thought I'd share it would be lovely to see a list which excplicitly is useful for macos like https://github.com/deweller/switchaudio-osx or https://github.com/jipegit/OSXAuditor. Bookmarked this anyway, thanks for sharing!

Music Audio Output
Not the simplest solution but you could install Homebrew, then install this command line application for switching audio output, then make a shortcut with a shell script inside it to run the application. I am not an expert Terminal guy and have successfully done this on multiple computers (I run the shell script from Keyboard Maestro but it should work just as well with a shortcut).

Is there a way to quickly switch bluetooth headphones from mac to iphone and back?
Connect headphones 1. Enable custom focus mode – to trigger the automation on other device 2. Delay – wait for other device to update its focus and run the automation to disconnect the headphones 3. Set playback destination (iOS only action so if you want to move from iOS to mac you'll need something like switchaudio-osx)

Shortcut to select a specific audio output device
I’m not an expert on Shortcuts for Mac, but if there’s a way to run a shell command from a shortcut, you could have a shortcut run switchaudio-osx to change your audio output.
