New Stream Deck Sonos Plugin
I looked into the Stream Deck implementations on linux and they all look rather "rough". Some have a kind of plugin support but its totally different from the official app. For your project i would consider just using a PI with a regular small touchscreen (made for DIY RasbPI projects). Sonos can be controlled using simple commands with https://github.com/avantrec/soco-cli for example.

Streaming pipewire/pipewire-pulse desktop audio to a sonos speaker
The sonos ecosystem is pretty locked down, but I found this really neat Python library and this CLI wrapper tool to control it, which is awesome! It makes it super easy to play any audio stream on the speaker, and I already used this for a little script for my dad to play some music that he only has locally as .mp3 files :)

Associate different speaker groups with the 'play' button on specific speakers?
If you enjoy tinkering with code you can have a look at soco-cli, https://github.com/avantrec/soco-cli you should be able to achieve what you're a looking for. Another way could be Ikea tradfri shortcut buttons

What routine tasks do you automate with python programs?
A similar question was posted here on Monday, 18 September 2017. It was nearly 3.5 years ago, so I'm curious how people are using their python skills to automate their work. I automated a Twitter bot last year and it crossed 9000 followers today. Here is the source code.
