You're making it more complicated than it has to be. Install WSL (which docker desktop requires anyway) and follow the Linux instructions

Steam Deck won’t launch sm64 pc port
I haven't tried that fork myself, but SM64EX works great.

New to homebrew/help with setting up
I have an old 3ds on hand. I have been wanting to try the OoT randomizer on it. I have the cartridge, but I am afraid it will mess it up. I also don't live in the USA, something this page says is important to have the US game . Is there a way I can download a copy (not a rom) of the usa game while still being able to use homebrew?

The Nintendo Online version of Ocarina of time is not rendering fog properly.
You want the latest Nightly build from (currently) 7 days ago, it’s like a beta build with a ton of new features but it seems to run perfectly fine from my current experience: https://github.com/gamestabled/OoT3D_Randomizer/releases
