What is a good application architecture?
Are you talking about yat? There is literm that is inspired from it and doesn't seem to use private API (it seems to instantiate a QQuickItem for each text element). There is also QTermWidget that doesn't appear to use private API but is using QQuickPaintedItem. So no low level scene graph usage.
