Samsung QN90B as monitor - auto turn on/off
The probably best, but I'm not sure if reliable solution would be something just like LGTVCompanion. I found the samsungctl and samsung-tv-control apps, they might do the trick (if they're compatible with QN90B), especially when configured with task scheduler on events, but I count not get them to work yet. I'm not that into the programming stuff and that could just be my fault (so that maybe someone will be able to give me some tips how to use it?).

Samsung Q8BA 2021 TV, possible to use API to display messages to the screen and turn off ?
The TV was advertised as having the Tizen OS and I found some docs at Samsung's website but I think it's for building apps to be installed on the TV. Was hoping to just make use of an existing API that might be available. I found this: https://github.com/Ape/samsungctl It's unclear to me if it will work with the newer TV's. I haven't tried anything yet myself but I'm not interested in using Samsung SmartThings app. I'm very privacy centric and I don't love the terms of service. I plan to put my TV on WiFi but then block that reserved IP from any outbound internet permissions.
