You are mostly correct about XRIT being the only full-Windows solution for GK-2A. xrit-rx can run just fine in Windows, in fact I develop it entirely in Windows, but goesrecv is Linux only. There is a way to use GNU Radio for Windows in place of goesrecv but it's not very user-friendly to setup.

My Shortwave Dipole Antenna
A note on using GLRPT - currently there aren't any satellites up with functioning LRPT transmissions. Hopefully this year Russia will get another Meteor satellite up and we can start receiving LRPT signals again. Also you may find it more convenient to use SatDump for working some satellites as it connects directly to the SDR without needing GQRX and a virtual audio cable.

guides/help for decoding meteor 2 images with a rtl-sdr
I just use Satdump. You can either record in something like SDRSharp and do offline decoding in Satdump or do live decoding in Satdump. I run it on my Windows 10 laptop with no issues.

Meteor images with Satdump
Hi, im trying to use the satdump program to get the images from meteor. Does anyone know what sample rate and format (i16, i8, f32) i should use for the baseband recording for this? does anyone know a tutorial to the meteor images with the satdump program?
- I don't normally share NOAA images, but, these were worthy of a post!
