rustic VS rclone

I'm a huge fan of restic as well. My only complaint is performance and memory usage. I'm looking forward to being able to use Rustic: https://rustic.cli.rs/

Since this is HN, we also need to mention [Rustic](https://github.com/rustic-rs/rustic) which is better since it's in Rust.

After a bit of refactoring, we are very proud to announce the first version of rustic_core, a library providing all functionality available in rustic, see https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/12xs8h3/announcing_rustic_fast_encrypted_deduplicated/. In fact, rustic is now just a thin CLI wrapper around rustic_core.

There is support to extend a local repository using e.g. the par2 tool, see https://github.com/rustic-rs/rustic/blob/main/examples/par2.toml But for recovery, that would involve manually recovery of broken repository files.

Synchronise buckets with Sclone or Rclone

Says that Apple doesn't provide a multi platform API. It doesn't provide any official supported way to access iCloud from Windows, Linux.

seconding rsync and syncthing.

the server could expose an smb or nfs share, the client could mount it, and then sync to that mount.

rsync over ssh also works, if you do not want to run smb/nfs.

rclone provides a special pCloud config option, which makes the setup straight forward. rclone can encrypt the data it uploads with its own encryption but not with the pCloud encryption. Therefore it can only upload data to the unencrypted pCloud folders, not to the Crypto Folder.

The arkclone project impliments rclone in ArkOS to achieve cloud saves. Not yet built in to ArkOS yet, and not a lot of recent traction on the pull request to get it added, but it can be installed manually.
