i'm not sure if this is exactly what you mean but you could base64 encode your file to string and then send it within json object and serialize that with serde. i used that method in one of my projects: https://github.com/aalhitennf/rusko-server/blob/main/src/routes/upload.rs

kdeconnect is the only thing that keeps me from using Budgie.
if you need only basics (commands, mouse, sending files), i have my own minimal replacement for kdeconnect. i've added prebuilt apk for the android client and binary for server, but building yourself isn't that hard either.
