Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

How to make this theme for chat server work without the js 'toggle'
I'm on mobile so it is painful to go through it all and make sure, but at first glance it looks like you just need to copy this CCS: https://github.com/pbaity/rocketchat-dark-mode/blob/master/dark-mode.css (I think from line 94 downwards, although again I'm mobile so just skimming through it)

Help with gnome files/nautilus bookmarks spacing
Your other option is to find a theme that has a slimmer look, that way you don't have to change the font size or anything else and let the theme take care of the padding. This theme comes to mind, although I haven't personally used it in a while. There's also Linux Mint's official theme Mint-Y, it might be in Pop!_OS's repositories (sudo apt install mint-themes) but there was a recent update that made the themes look much better, I'm unsure if this new update is already in the repos.
