  • GitHub-Dark

    :octocat: Dark GitHub style

Project mention: Need some help to enable containers extention dark mode via css cause it's burning my eyes thnx | reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS | 2021-06-30

personally, I use dark reader for most websites. if it breaks (or doesn't look good on) a website that I use very frequently, I make my own stylesheet for the website. which is very time-consuming so it's not like I can do that willy-nilly. in some cases I can find an existing stylesheet that's better than dark reader. like for github I use github dark, which requires stylus. and if it's a website I don't use that frequently and darkreader makes it unusable, I just leave darkreader off. just suck it up and use the website in "light mode" for as little time as possible.

Meticulously designed to make Obsidian feel native across platforms. You can customize colors, fonts and more with the companion plugin Minimal Theme Settings.

Project mention: Obsidian Dataview: Turn Obsidian Vault into a database which you can query from | news.ycombinator.com | 2022-05-17

Dataview is incredible. Being able to query plain text notes and their metadata has been transformative for my workflow. It has allowed me to move virtually all my thought processing work into Obsidian. I am constantly amazed by how performant Dataview is.

I sometimes wonder if learning how to use Dataview inside of Obsidian is too technical to get mass adoption, compared to WYSIWYG tools like Notion that let you build databases with nice UI filtering. But the performance of Dataview is so much better, and the control you have over queries so much more granular, that it’s worth the learning curve. The Obsidian community is also incredibly good at helping new users learn, which makes me feel optimistic.

To help make things a bit more user friendly I have been building an Obsidian theme called Minimal[1] which allows you to take Dataview tables and display them in a card layout[2]. I really enjoy that layout for certain types of information, while having all the underlying power of Dataview.

:mage::zap: django's default admin interface made customizable. popup windows replaced by modals.

Project mention: What do you think of Django Admin? | reddit.com/r/django | 2022-02-23

When I started to use django more than 10 years ago, I was really happy for the admin, immediately after I felt the necessity to customise (re-brand) it for each client, so I looked for available packages and my conclusion was that all admin replacements in the end become hard to maintain, have many issues open and are abandoned, so I ended up writing my own solution that does exactly what I needed: customise the interface using the admin itself. Many years later my solution still works and have few issues open, I use it on a daily basis on different projects and many other users use it. This package is publicly available on GitHub/PyPi: django-admin-interface (I’m the author, any feedback is appreciated).
