k8s-image-swapper - Mirror images into your own registry and swap image references automatically
This seems to have a lot of similarities to OpenShift image streams. My colleague Ricardo Maraschini has done some proof of concepts to get the idea working on any k8s cluster - https://github.com/ricardomaraschini/tagger.

I know this already exist as a project here: https://github.com/barpilot/node-labeler-operator but the project seems abandoned and lacks of a useful feature which is removing the existing labels/annotations/taints if some were removed from the configuration.
What are some alternatives?
