Pushing racial slurs to a GitHub public repo (not a shitpost)
I don't see how using a library would result in any functional difference from what you are already doing (presumably having some variable/text file that represents a list of words). This library for example literally just returns a list of words considered profanity by Google, and can be used in full isolation from the filter implementation.
What are some alternatives?
profane-words - A very long list of English profanity.
List-of-Dirty-Naughty-Obscene-and-Otherwise-Bad-Words - List of Dirty, Naughty, Obscene, and Otherwise Bad Words
alex - Catch insensitive, inconsiderate writing
profanity-check - A fast, robust Python library to check for offensive language in strings.
retext-equality - plugin to check for possible insensitive, inconsiderate language
swearwords - Contains stuff like axolotl facts and pictures
retext-readability - plugin to check readability
git-crypt - Transparent file encryption in git
joblint - Test tech job posts for issues with sexism, culture, expectations, and recruiter fails.
cleanvid - cleanvid is a little script to mute profanity in video files
cuss - 🤬 Map of profane words to a rating of sureness
