List of ngrok/Cloudflare Tunnel alternatives and other tunneling software and services. Focus on self-hosting.
remotemoe - SSH-based, with custom golang server. Does some cool unique things. Instead of just plain tunnels, it drops you into a basic CLI UI that offers several useful commands interactively, such as adding a custom hostname. Also allows end-to-end encryption for both HTTPS and upstream SSH. Doesn't appear to offer non-e2e HTTPS, ie no auto Let's Encrypt support.

Exposing a web service with Cloudflare Tunnel
Cloudflare Tunnel doesn't offer an end-to-end encryption option. If this is a must for you, either my own boringproxy or remotemoe[0] both offer this. I'm sure at least a couple others on the list[1] do as well but you'd have to check them individually. If you find any that do please consider opening an issue so I can add that information to the list.

How To Access Real Client IP Addresses With Proxy Protocol
On one hand, this is about inlets, a product I wrote to help developers, self-hosters and enterprises to connect containers to the cloud. On the other hand, I hope you'll learn as much as I did about Proxy Protocol and how hard it is to configure for Traefik behind K3s.

Exposing a web service with Cloudflare Tunnel
It's unfortunate the only mature open source alternative[1] went on a path to seriously expensive subscriptions, 5x of a tailscale personal subscription.

Is selling something to a developer the hardest form of marketing?
Be specific. There are plenty of services I pay for, such as WebStorm, Photoshop, TablePlus, etc. Look at how JetBrains or TablePlus talks about their product. Take a look at inlets for a smaller scale sales pattern.
