PaperTerm Concept, An e-paper remote terminal device
Years ago, I've made a program turning Pocketbook e-ink readers into computer monitors with some extra features: https://github.com/borzunov/remoteink
The update speed is quite good (comfortable for writing texts and browsing most websites) even when connecting via Wi-Fi.

Show HN: Low-power Kindle-based dashboard
Reminded me of the tool turning Pocketbook E-Ink readers into computer monitors, which I made several years ago:
https://github.com/borzunov/remoteink
This could be used for the dashboards as well (no screen updates happen if the content doesn't change), if connected to a remote server or a Raspberry Pi.
Also, it allows to zoom in/out, switch between the opened windows, and move around the screen with keyboard shortcuts. No jailbreak is needed for the reader.

Ask HN: eReader as external monitor?
Looking at the price of eInk monitors, I've been tempted to try using a spare eReader as an external eInk monitor β or connect a USB keyboard, and run Linux on it.
Cursory research turns up projects such as KoboWriter (https://github.com/olup/kobowriter/) which seem to have overcome some of the difficulties (though the process is still involved).
Has anyone done something like this? If so, how did it go? (And where can I read about it!)
