Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.
redshift
-
Conversion from tm struct and String into time_t
Redshift has code to calculate that locally which I use in my sunrise light project
-
Does XFCE have a night light?
FWIW, Linux Mint XFCE comes with Redshift.
- How to setup blue light filter?
-
If you use your PC for long hours, use Eye Saver app to protect your eyes.
Other options include f.lux and redshift.
-
blocking blue light
There is Redshift: https://github.com/jonls/redshift

How do you build circuits?
eg for this project my available inputs were intermittent 12v power, bluetooth, and the current time and location; and the desired output was 3× high current low-side switches that produced 12v RGB PWM corresponding to the colour temperature and brightness of the sky - so we need a bluetooth microcontroller, battery backup to keep time when 12v is absent, some battery management which wanted 5v in, a 12v buck to feed it, some MOSFETs, and redshift or similar code to plug into things.
-
How can I use an Arduino board to control LEDs so it imitates the sunlight color temperature throughout the day?
I just added redshift as a submodule to handle the GPS location + UTC time to color temperature conversion.
-
what's the alternative for linux like F.lux for windows for yellow light and brightness for screen?
But I still use redshift and prefer it over f.lux. I am on cell and this is first result so double check https://github.com/jonls/redshift
-
Linux (Debian) equivalent of DimScreen on Windows or MonitorControl on MacOS?
Anyway, for dimming screens with overlays (or gamma alteration), Redshift seems to have a -b option.
-
How do you even install redshit on windows ? (screen temp program)
The instructions are super confusing to me. Here's the github :https://github.com/jonls/redshift

Wiz Light Help
Only some models are compatible AFAIK. I think you should open an issue about this on the GitHub page. https://github.com/kpsuperplane/homebridge-wiz-lan

WiZ bulbs slow to turn on
I haven't experienced this personally, but it was reported as an issue by a user of the homebridge_wiz plugin, which was subsequently updated to tickle the bulbs and keep 'em responsive. If you're interested in incorporating WiZ bulbs into a HomeKit environment, I'd say the plugin would be a win-win.
-
Can you choose both color and temperature at the same time?
There's some discussion of color management among the open issues of homebridge-wiz-lan that might be germane to your interests.
-
Can't dim below 10%?
From lurking around the repository for the homebridge-wiz-lan plugin, I gather "10" is the dimmest value a WiZ bulb will accept. Have you explored other color options for your nightlight scene? 10% "TV Time" is significantly dimmer to the eye than 10% "Cozy"

F.lux, but for Your House
Adaptive Lighting also works with the cheaper Philips Wiz bulbs, provided you use HomeBridge. ( I'm using this plugin for Wiz support: https://github.com/kpsuperplane/homebridge-wiz-lan#readme )
Wiz bulbs will also be getting Matter support within the next year, so we'll be able to add them to HomeKit "natively".
-
homebridge-wiz-lan with Spex switches?
Just reading into the plugin now and it seems it was originally only built to support Wiz bulbs, and a PR was recently merged to allow for Wiz outlets too: https://github.com/kpsuperplane/homebridge-wiz-lan/pull/83
- Philips Wiz - Wiz Lan Configuration
- Homebridge plugin for Wiz smart plugs?
- I've been redecorating our house with vintage and color bulbs- The Wiz Wi-Fi bulbs are as low as $10 at big box stores, and this plugin by kpsuperplane (not mine) has worked great with them for me.
What are some alternatives?
