Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.
redshift
-
Conversion from tm struct and String into time_t
Redshift has code to calculate that locally which I use in my sunrise light project
-
Does XFCE have a night light?
FWIW, Linux Mint XFCE comes with Redshift.
- How to setup blue light filter?
-
If you use your PC for long hours, use Eye Saver app to protect your eyes.
Other options include f.lux and redshift.
-
blocking blue light
There is Redshift: https://github.com/jonls/redshift

How do you build circuits?
eg for this project my available inputs were intermittent 12v power, bluetooth, and the current time and location; and the desired output was 3× high current low-side switches that produced 12v RGB PWM corresponding to the colour temperature and brightness of the sky - so we need a bluetooth microcontroller, battery backup to keep time when 12v is absent, some battery management which wanted 5v in, a 12v buck to feed it, some MOSFETs, and redshift or similar code to plug into things.

How can I use an Arduino board to control LEDs so it imitates the sunlight color temperature throughout the day?
I just added redshift as a submodule to handle the GPS location + UTC time to color temperature conversion.

what's the alternative for linux like F.lux for windows for yellow light and brightness for screen?
But I still use redshift and prefer it over f.lux. I am on cell and this is first result so double check https://github.com/jonls/redshift
-
Linux (Debian) equivalent of DimScreen on Windows or MonitorControl on MacOS?
Anyway, for dimming screens with overlays (or gamma alteration), Redshift seems to have a -b option.
-
How do you even install redshit on windows ? (screen temp program)
The instructions are super confusing to me. Here's the github :https://github.com/jonls/redshift

[AMD] LTS 22.04, My brightness control is not working, help!
But somehow the 'brightness-controller' application is working after install and changes hardware brightess smoothly. At the same time when installing 'brightnessctl' or 'light', it doesn't work.
- Do any of you use an app/utility to dim your screen(s) through software?
-
Desktop screen brightness?
There are standalone brightness controllers like this one, for example.

Brightness Control ceased working
I use this. It allows me to change brightness clicking the icon in the xfce panel
- HP Victus AMD CPU/GPU with nVidia GTX 1650 Screen Backlight Issue on Arch and Debian tested so far.

Brightness slider doesn't work
https://github.com/lordamit/Brightness works fine for me.
-
Can't adjust brightness in Manjaro gnome
I installed Brightness controller and Gammy both of them are not working in Manjaro gnome but worked fine in Pop OS.
-
Am I tripping or is pop_os causing me a lot of eye pain after switching from windows?
What I did, was switch back to light mode everywhere (boy it was hard at first), turn brightness of the monitor all the way down and also dimming and warming the colors a bit with Brightness controller. The desired effect is actually something called sepia (mode that should imho be implemented along side light and dark modes). Basically dim yellowish background with nice and crispy black or dark gray font.
- New to Linux: how to do I install software that was only packaged for debian distros?
What are some alternatives?
gammastep
NodeGraphQt - Node graph framework that can be re-implemented into applications that supports PySide2
go-sct - A color temperature setting library and CLI that operates in a similar way to f.lux and Redshift. Supports Wayland, X and Windows
light - GNU/Linux application to control backlights
xrandr-brightness-script - 🔆 Script for adjusting the brightness and color temperature of displays on a software level using xrandr.
KoHighlights - KOHighlights is a utility for viewing KOReader's highlights and/or export them to simple text, html, csv or markdown files.
