react-native-debugger VS appium

I used to use this which has what I'm talking about, but I've had issues running it with hermes.

Alternatively, instead of using the adb tool, you can also use the React Native Debugger app (https://github.com/jhen0409/react-native-debugger) to open the debugger on your device. This app provides a button that you can press to open the debugger, so you don't have to use the adb tool or shake the phone.

React Native is a great tool for certain jobs. Depending on what you're trying to build, Swift may or may not be a better fit. As for debugging, React Native Debugger can be your best friend. https://github.com/jhen0409/react-native-debugger

There are many ways to debug your app by reaching for tools like React Dev Tools, a simple element inspector or a network tab that you're used to. Tools such as React Native Debugger are also quite popular, but they require turning on the 'Remote debugging' mode on your simulator, which I found sometimes interferes with the app and throws weird errors.

espresso is Google's general recommendation, but there are other tools out there that exist like appium or kaspresso. Sure there are more, just goigle it to see what else there is.

End-to-end testing is completely different on React Native, however. None of the Selenium-based E2E testing tools will work; neither will newer tools like Cypress or Playwright. You may have expected this - these are all DOM-based, and there’s no DOM in React Native. So instead developers will have to learn Detox or Appium.

With iOS app testing, we test our iOS application on mobile devices (emulators or real devices, depending on the use case). Here, we pass it through various testing phases to ensure that the final version has minimum or no bugs. These can include manually inspecting the application like an end-user or running an automation framework like Appium or Testsigma.
