Here's the reMarkable wiki page on templates for easy clicking. I believe this is the white lines template and this is the engineering template you mentioned. (I made the engineering grid templates, so it makes me happy to see they're useful to other people, too.)

Lamy Pen - Eraser Selection
At least with the ddvk method, you just select the "erase selection" tool normally (then switch back to the pen), and the button then activates whatever eraser tool is selected.

Is there a hack to switch between pen types
If you use this hack, a short press of the button switches between the two most recent pens. The stylus must be close to the screen but not currently writting.
