rar2fs
- A while ago I asked how to best avoid grabbing rar'd torrents - now I'm back with an app that automates just that!

You can use something like rar2fs to mount the archives on-the-fly.
-
In Windows, you can use Winrar to extract split rar files and delete them as you go if you don't have enough disk space. Is there a program that lets you do this in Linux without wine?
fuse, mount the rar file https://github.com/google/fuse-archive (or https://github.com/hasse69/rar2fs)
-
TorrentSeeds (TS) Open for limited time.
If you use Linux, just mount your dir with that one https://hasse69.github.io/rar2fs/ and it will be unrared.
- The best datahoarding hint that changed my live: use RAR archives (or any other archive format, really)

I want to write a lot of .jpg images, photos to DVD. Should I put them in a RAR, ZIP file or just write/burn the .jpg files directly to DVD?
Mount zip, rar2fs. Just saying, there is little difference between both options.

Try intel-undervolt or amdctl

P14s (T14 gen2) AMD battery life on Linux
I still wondering how to control CPU, found many stuff such as amd_pstate, ryzen_smu, RyzenAdj, amdctl. Now I'm trying to figure something out but it has too many options ☺

Undervolt?
There is https://github.com/kevinlekiller/amdctl/ . It does require additional kernel params and possibly modules (idk if msr is loaded on the deck - should check) which would be overwritten by system updates. Maybe somebody has used it before?

Starbook Mk V. If you know of something better, leave a comment.
Another advantage for AMD I guess. RyzenAdj is super configurable (and scriptable for udev events) and has worked great for me for power curve and temp control, and although I haven't tried it, there appears to be a good tool, amdctl for pretty fine grained voltage and clock control now as well.
- Linux has very bad battery duration compared to Windows (PART 2). I tried everything: TLP, laptop-mode-tools, powertop, auto-cpufreq, hw acceleration, power-profiles-daemon, ryzen-controller... I still have huge battery problems. What can I do?
