There's also a sniffer tool to detect monero mining, but I haven't looked into that and at first glance it doesn't look like it's available for Linux, but it proves the concept.

You are probably thinking of VideoAdBlockForTwitch, or its predecessor. (The original author went rogue, the project I linked is a fork with the rogue changes backed out.) It has been deleted from addons.mozilla.org some time ago, with no explanation.
