What to focus on moving to an Rails Api-only role?
Shameless plug, but I developed https://github.com/gregschmit/rails-rest-framework to make writing APIs in Rails easier. I came to Rails 3 years ago from Django and really enjoyed using Django REST Framework. Basically it provides a browsable API for developers to use so the API is self-documenting, and also does pagination/ordering/filtering and some other stuff like dynamic serialization (exclude certain columns/associations per-request using url params).
