Which is more popular android or ios development?
It also depends on how much money you want to invest in. iOS development is much more expensive overall you have to buy a developer account which is around 100$ a year while on Android it only cost 25$ (one-time purchase). And I'm not even talking about the other requirements. There are some solutions out there for iOS development on windows like Corellium but you'll have to spend a lot of money to test your application (295$/month for 6 cores). That's why I look forward to what the community can bring and you can have nice surprises like this iOS emulator that's in development : https://github.com/TrungNguyen1909/qemu-t8030

[Question] this might be a dumb question, but is there an ios emulator for windows

6) I haven't tried this one either, but there is a QEMU fork with T8030 support with a tutorial/guide too. I think this is enough to get you a shell, and maybe it can be used to run native binaries just like on a jailbroken device.

Downsides of linux mint
With the advent of containerised software like Flatpak (or apx if you're adventurous) and Distrobox, running a solid LTS release like Mint has fewer drawbacks than ever.
-
Apx v2, is now ready for testing
Download the latest build from our GitHub repository: https://github.com/Vanilla-OS/apx/releases/tag/continuous.
-
Linux Application installation
All Flatpaks can be installed as a user. For any other apps, you can compile & install apx, which lets you run many distros in full performance, host integrated containers in your home directory
-
Using Apx
Honestly, I would try asking on their github .. seems like it should be possible to run it on Silverblue and based on the description from the main project page (emphasis mine), I would think it should be ok

Hod do I change the desktop environment?
You could try using APX or abroot to install XFCE or Cinnamon; check the APX docs: https://documentation.vanillaos.org/docs/apx/
