puddletag VS atomicparsley

For subsequent tagging I use Puddletag or Picard. Puddletag's great for automated tagging as well as getting tags in great shape, customised tagging, formatting and renaming/moving folders and collateral. It also supports tag sources in addition to Musicbrainz.

I use puddletag for many years and am pretty happy with it. It's still actively developed.

puddletag is pretty nice. I'm mostly using it for filename->tag and cleaning up tags (case conversion, remove whitespace etc.), it reminds me a bit of Foobars Mass Tagger which I loved.

I would use this version of atomicparsley if it's been updated more than the original

I would recommend not using that site. I just went to it and it is full of scam ads. You can use the open source app yt-dlg, it doesn't have any ads and can be downloaded from GitHub (just search for it.) Also place ffmpeg (https://ffmpeg.org/download.html) and if you want thumbnails, AtomicParsley (https://github.com/wez/atomicparsley) into the folder with yt-dlg.

Atomic parsley seems promising! Here is a StackOverflow question about it.

Thank you u/werid. I updated my post above to add more detail to the situation (log and more info). The file I see in /usr/local/bin is AtomicParsley but the which command works with caps or without. It was downloaded from https://github.com/wez/atomicparsley. It's the same issue if I install from there or from sourceforge.

To do what the title says, I came across this github page, but since I don't have access to a PC, I can't download avconv. I found a current version of AtomicParsley here but the script wouldn't allow me to delete tags with personal info, just amend it with more characters .
