Pry VS faker

that's surprising considering `pry`[1] is such an amazing debugger IMO.

All of my recent tutorials and projects were primarily managed using the default Ruby REPL, irb, and I must say it's been nothing short of amazing. However, what ultimately prompted me to switch to Pry was its offering of better defaults. But what exactly does that mean? Let me demonstrate:

For older versions: Pry Gem

To do that, I would install `pry` into your rails project and then use it look around right before your test fails.https://github.com/pry/pry

This means I can be editing a shell script and easily inject arbitrary regions into a shell buffer for immediate testing (point never leaves the window where I am editing, and I can view the shell output in an adjacent window). This is similar to what Robe does with Pry within an inferior Ruby process using comint.

https://pry.github.io/ - also a lot of features from Pry have made it into the default IRB these days, but I still use pry. I don't know the equivalent commands in IRB.

For debugging, while not multi-threaded, to my knowledge, is the pry gem for debugging. There are a few different flavors, for instance, my favorite is pry-byebug.

While we’re at it, let's add a couple of other gems we’ll need for our test environment: factory_bot_rails is a fixtures replacement and generates test model instances. faker is handy for generating fake strings of data to be used in tests. Add those gems to the development and test group of your Gemfile:

Ah, so the data is just a giant .yml file of potential options, that I compiled, and then faker grabs a random one based on that data. There's no "database" or anything akin to that.

It's with the Faker library. I was able to reproduce it by spinning up a new rails up, specifying the faker gem , yours, and running the command gives the same error.

To begin using faker, you need to install the gem, which is simply done by running "gem install faker". After you do that, you should add "gem "faker"" to your gem file to ensure correct usage, otherwise you may get an error. Once thats done you can head over to the seeding file and add require "faker" the page. In the seeding file is where you would start to "fake" your data and we use the faker library to pick out random dummy data. In the seeding, your gonna start implementing the data which should look like this,
