Background primarily in economics, with 3 years of general programming experience. Significant work experience in finance/policy, decided in the past year to go towards data and software.
Recently left a role where I was responsible, solely, for designing and implementing a production scheduler for an industrial client in Gurobi. Also designed the backend of a demand forecasting platform, using Amazon's GluonTS, from scratch.
Currently working on https://github.com/PolicyEngine/openfisca-us in my free time, helping to research and design a comprehensive tax and benefit simulation for policymakers that doubles as an eligibility calculator.

RAYPAC donations to 2020 election deniers and the open source project they inspired me to create
When researching donation history for RAYPAC, I discovered that the FEC maintains a pretty awesome API into nearly all aspects of federal election finance called OpenFEC. This gave me the idea to write a small utility wrapping this API to allow a user to quickly pull historical data of direct donations from a specific PAC to any number of candidates someone might be interested in. For my use case of election deniers, I used data maintained by [](fivethirtyeight.com) to search RAYPAC FEC reciepts with my tool and  in just a few lines of code.
